1st Season

Nick Glaser begins his first season as an assistant coach with the University of Memphis soccer program.

"We're really pleased with the addition of Nick to our program for a lot of reasons," head coach Richie Grant said. "He's a former player here, so he knows the expectations of the program as an athlete. He knows the standards of the conference, and he's played professionally, so he brings a wealth of experience to our players. He already has a couple of years of coaching experience at Dayton where he was instrumental in the recruiting process. We're hoping to capitalize on what he's learned at Dayton and apply that to our program."

Glaser, a standout on Tiger soccer teams from 1997-2000, rejoins the program after spending the 2005 and 2006 seasons as an assistant coach for Atlantic 10 power University of Dayton.

In his time at Dayton, the Flyers compiled a 19-14-6 record and advanced to the semifinals of the A-10 tournament in 2005.

From 2003-2004, Glaser served as an assistant at Cumberland University where he worked with the Bulldogs' men's and women's teams before leaving the NAIA school to join the Flyers.

Glaser got a head start on his coaching career by working the club team ranks. The Hendersonville, Tenn., native served as head coach of the Hendersonville Fever '93 team from 2001-2004 as well as the Hendersonville Fever '91 squad from 2002-2003.

After graduating from Memphis, Glaser continued his playing career with the Nashville Metros of the A-League where he helped the club to the 2001 A-League playoffs, the club's first postseason appearance since 1998.

After one season in Nashville, Glaser spent the 2002 and 2003 A-League seasons with the Cincinnati Riverhawks, leading the club in minutes played in 2003.

While at Memphis, Glaser's best season came during his 1997 freshman campaign when he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team. He helped the Tigers to a 10-8-2 record by playing in 20 games (18 starts) and recording five goals (including two game winners) and five assists during his freshman season.

Glaser left Memphis in 2001 after earning a degree in marketing and totaled 35 points (11 goals, 12 assists) in 73 games in a Tiger uniform.
